September 8-13: Wayne County Fair Adoption Event: Our largest adoption event of the year takes place during the Wayne County Fair.  Our booth will be full of adoptable dogs, t-shirts will be for sale, give-a-ways available, and loads of information. The Dog Shelter is closed during this time so be sure to stop by the fair to view our amazing dogs.

 

Saturday, September 22nd: Volunteer Orientation:  Interested in volunteering at the Wayne County Dog Shelter?  Join us at 10am at the shelter for our volunteer orientation.  Class normally takes an hour and includes a full tour of the shelter.

 

Saturday, October 6th: Howl-O-Ween Dog Walk:  You won't want to miss out on this years Howl-O-Ween Dog Walk.  Come spend the afternoon with us at Oak Hill Park.  Participate in a costume contest with prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.  Socialize with other dog lovers and learn about the Wayne County Dog Shelter. Snacks and Refreshments available. The cost is $5 per dog.

Friday, December 7: Santa Paws Open House: Bring your dog to the shelter for photos with Santa provided by H&R Fotostudio.  (First come, first serve basis.  There will most likely be a short wait.) Browse for Christmas gifts from our wonderful vendors and enjoy some items from our Bake Sale.  It is free to attend and your first photo with Santa is free.  All photos will be edited and available for pick up at H&R Fotostudio the following week.
