Welcome to our website!  We are very happy that you have stopped by.  The Wayne County Dog Shelter is a county operated facility that has 3 main objectives.  First, we work very hard to reunite lost dogs with their owners.  Secondly, for those dogs who are not claimed, we offer adoption services.  Finally, we promote humane values and responsible pet ownership in our community.  Please use the resources listed in the tabs above to learn more about our shelter,  and be sure to check our our adoptable dogs!


Business Hours are Tuesday-Friday from 12pm-5pm and Saturday from 9am-2pm.

Ohio Pet Plates

The Wayne County Dog Shelter is a 2017 recipient of the

Ohio Pet Fund Grant!

This grant will assist in the cost of

spaying and neutering over 100 dogs in Wayne County!

By purchasing an Ohio Pet Plate you are helping shelters

just like ours, raise awareness of the importance of

spaying and neutering your pet.

Bark Box is an amazing way for the public to help out our local shelter here in Wooster, Ohio!  There are 3 different ways you can help!
